A few things to remember:
Be honest. Instead of reciting a couple lines that your best friend wrote out for you or trying to impress her with a poem you memorized, use words that come from your heart. Ask yourself: how do you really feel about her? If you think she’s funny, tell her. If you love spending time with her, tell her. If you’re friends but you’re starting to have feelings for her, tell her.
Look your best. Fix your hair, put on a clean shirt that looks good on you and a dash of cologne. Oh, and don’t forget a breath mint! You’ll likely want to hug (or even kiss) her after she says yes, and you’ll want to look your best.
Think about what kind of girl she is. If she’s on the shy side, she probably won’t want to be asked to homecoming in front of a huge crowd. If she can’t eat sweets, skip the candy. Take her personality into consideration before you ask her to the dance!
Romantic Ways to Ask a Girl to Homecoming
A cupcake. Ask her friends what flavor cupcake is her favorite, then bring one to school. Stick a tiny homemade paper flag in it that says “will you go to homecoming with me?” Give it to her at lunch or right after.

Candy-covered desk. Right before homeroom, arrange her favorite kind of candy into a heart on her desk. Put a note inside or next to it that asks her to homecoming.
A photo collage. If you’ve been dating or friends for awhile, make her a collage using a bunch of pictures of the two of you. In the center, write “homecoming?” in fancy lettering (it’s ok to ask a girl friend for help!)

Candles, rose petals and a picnic. You’ll need the help of a friend for this one. Set up a bunch of mini candles, rose petals and some snacks (cheese, crackers, fruit and sparkling apple cider) on a picnic bench in a park. Have a friend light the candles while you go pick her up. Lead her to the romantic set up, and ask her to homecoming. Then, enjoy the picnic.
A single rose. Attach a note to a single rose that says “homecoming?” Give it to her in person.
A heart-felt card. If you have a way with words, write out a card (homemade or store bought) that asks her to homecoming. Start off with some compliments (I love the time we spend together, you are beautiful, etc.) and then tell her that you would love to spend the special night together.
How to Write Love Letters
Chalk on the sidewalk. Get to school early, then use pastel-colored chalk to write “_____, will you go to homecoming with me?” on the sidewalk. Make sure it’s written where she normally walks- or ask one of her friends to make sure she walks that way!
Creative Ways to Ask a Girl to HomecomingThese ideas will take a little more planning, but they'll certainly be memorable!
Use your dog. If your dog is especially well-behaved, attach a note or a card to his collar that says "homecoming with _____?", then bring him over to her house when you know she'll be home. Make him sit at her doorstep, ring the doorbell, then hide off to the side. You might want to give her parents or siblings a heads up to make sure she's the one who answers the door.
Special delivery! Order her favorite kind of pizza, then write "will you go to homecoming with me?" on the inside of the top lid. Take it to her house, and when she answers the door, flip open the box. After she says yes, enjoy a slice together!
Engraved pencils. Companies like Oriental Trading will let you customize almost anything on the cheap. Order some pencils that say "homecoming with ______?" then slyly slip them into her backpack.
Make a YouTube video. It could be a silly comedy skit, a sincere message or even you singing a song. Post it and send her the link.

Beach Ball. Get a giant beach ball and write a message directly on it asking her to homecoming. Roll it toward her during lunch or at a time when the hallway isn't crowded.
Decorate her locker or car. Cover her locker with flowers, candy, balloons and even a stuffed animal. Don't forget to include a note asking her to the dance. Or, use shoe polish or car window chalk to write a special message on her back windshield.
Scavenger Hunt. Start with a note in her locker, then hide notes around the school, with her friends and with teachers. Have the last clue lead to you. Have candy and flowers accompany each clue along the way.
Morning or Afternoon Announcements. Ask the person who does the announcements if they'll add one additional item to their list: "and ____ would like to know if _____ will go to homecoming with them!"
Football Game Announcement. If your potential date will be at the next football game, ask the announcers to ask her to homecoming for you over the intercom during halftime.
