How To Choose a Prom Group: My Friends Versus His Friends

From , former About.com Guide

Question: How To Choose a Prom Group?:

I'm so excited to go to prom with my boyfriend, but we have a problem that we can't seem to solve. I want to ride in the limo with all of my best girl friends and their dates, but he is insisting on riding in the limo with his guy friends and their dates. We can't seem to come up with a solution.

Answer: Compromise!:

Keep in mind that the ride to and from prom is a very minor part of the night. There is no reason to drop your date or evoke break up-worthy drama over the transportation, so tackle the problem in a reasonable manner.

If both of the limos have the same destination, perhaps you two can ride with his group of friends to the prom, then leave the prom with your friends in their limo. Another option is to split up, just for the ride. Agree to ride with your respective friends, then meet up as soon as you arrive.

If the two groups are doing different pre- and post-prom activities, compromise by doing the pre-prom plans with his friends and the post-prom plans with your friends.

If all else fails, flip a coin or rock-paper-scissor it! Once you strike a resolution, stick with it. Having a memorable prom does not come down to who you show up with, so make the most of it either way!
