The Asymmetrical Dress Trend

Celebrities in One-Shoulder Dresses

The latest silhouette to light up the red carpet is the asymmetrical dress trend. One-shoulder dresses are easier to wear than strapless frocks, and endlessly cooler than more traditionally conservative numbers.

1. Emmy Rossum

Emmy's strapless dress is sweetened up with chiffon one-shouldered "sash." Her purple rosette-embellished shoes turned the charm up a notch, making it the perfect look for attending an Alberta Ferretti store opening (in Emmy's case) or a school soiree (in yours!).

2. Taylor Swift

Between the crystal earrings and diamond-studded stilettos, Taylor turns an asymmetrical cocktail dress into an evening affair for a Grammy concert.

3. Leighton Meester

One-strapped dresses are fit for a goddess, but when Leighton wore this striking number to a fashion industry event, it looked appropriately fit for a... Gossip Girl.

4. Mischa Barton

The creamy color and romantic floral makes a one-shouldered dress look glamorously Grecian. Mischa stunned the red carpet at a movie premiere, but it would look even better on a dance floor.

5. Kristen Stewart

In a one-shoulder meets off-the-shoulder silhouette, Kristen looks appropriately edgy at the premiere of Twilight.
