Now, these beauty tips extend beyond how to keep your makeup from melting. You'll also learn the secret to getting your dress to fit you perfectly, how to spare the balls of your feet from agony after hours of dancing in heels, and how to make sure your breath is the absolute freshest… even after your prom dinner.
Beauty Tips for Perfecting Your Prom Makeup
Your prom makeup is meant to be a little more glam than your everyday look… and it should last through pre-prom photos, dinner, lots of dancing and an after-prom party. Phew! How to make it last?
Prep with eyelid primer. Before you sweep on your shadow, prep your lids with some eyelid primer. I recommend Urban Decay's Primer Potion. It helps keep your color in place, and is especially helpful if you're using shimmer shadow.
Use makeup setting spray. After your eyes, lips and cheeks are done, mist your face with a makeup setting spray. It not only settles the makeup onto your face so you don't have that powdery look, it helps all that color stay put!
Freeze your makeup. Stick your face in your freezer for about 20 seconds after you're done with the application. Your makeup will "freeze" onto your face, and it will last a lot longer than usual! You'll still need to touch up your lips after dinner, but your foundation, eyes and cheeks should stay put.

Get a Perfect Dress Fit
Take it to a tailor... even if you bought your dress in your size. Go over every seam on your dress to make sure it's the perfect fit. If it needs a little taking in under the arms or a little letting out in your booty area, take it to your tailor a few weeks before prom to ensure that it hugs you in all the right places.
Double-sided tape. Your gown looks perfect when you're standing up straight, but when you lean over there's a definite space with shows a clear shot down your dress! Make sure you're not flashing your date by using double-sided wardrobe tape. Stick one side to your skin and the other to the bust of your dress. I recommend Hollywood Tape.
Sew in bust-shapers. If you don't quite fill out the bust of your dress but a bra isn't an option, ask your tailor to sew bust-shapers. They'll give you support and a nice shape with no bra straps or seam lines!
Put on some nipple covers. If your dress is really low cut and there's no way you can use a a bust shaper or a bra, get yourself some nipple covers. They'll protect your nipples from getting rubbed raw against your dress and will prevent unwanted headlights!
Slip a body-shaper under your dress. Ever wonder how celebs never seem to have a bulge in sight? It's not always because they're gym rats. Chances are they have a seamless body shaper underneath their dress that's holding everything in! Body shapers tighten everything up and make your body look that much better underneath a curve-hugging dress.

Beauty tips for your feet... because your toes and heels need attention, too!
Gel pads. Go easy on your tootsies! You may not be used to wearing sky-high heels and dancing on a hard dance floor for hours. Instead of killing the balls of your feet, fasten some gel pads into your shoes. Your feet will thank you!
Heel protectors. If your shoes are brand new and you haven't had a chance to really break them in, stick a pair of heel protectors in the back of your shoes (note: this won't work if you're wearing strappy heels). They'll stop you from getting nasty blisters. If you're wearing a pair of strappy heels, just stick a few band-aids in your clutch. You can always stick them on if the straps start digging into your heels!
