Mirror Her Makeup: Mary Kate Olsen

by Casey Lewis

Mary Kate Olsen has made the unexpected leap from homeless hippie to haute hipster, and we want to mirror her flawless makeup!

1. Play Up Pale Skin

Mary Kate's creamy complexion can be credited to great genes, fancy foundation, and most importantly, sunscreen. One of the most valuable things you can do is add a nice layer of sunscreen-infused moisturizer under your makeup.

2. Smudge On Eyeliner

A brown, thick-tipped eyeliner provides that sophisticated, smudgy look without the harshness of kohl. Rim your eyes - both upper and lower lids - then smudge with a sponge tip.

3. Pump Up Lashes

After you curl your eyelashes, squiggle mascara on in a back-and-forth motion. Let dry, curl again, then apply another coat. For Mary Kate's doe-eyed look, really focus on your lower lashes.

4. Sweep Peachy Blush

A sweet, peachy blush brightens up any skin tone. A nice alternative to all-over bronzer, this instant glow should only be swept over the apples of your cheeks and blended well.

5. Dab Natural Lipstick

Give your gloss a break, and invest in a tube of good, old-fashioned lipstick. A neutral, natural shade can look as bold or as discreet as you desire, depending on how much and how strong you apply it.
